Backpacking Trip To Marjorie Lake in the Uintah's
We wanted to go on a backpacking trip this summer (a real one without cheating using horses) . Its sorta hard to backpack with young kids so I went with only Mckay and Brynlee (I know there not really that old). Mckay carried a backpack with some food, Brynlee carried a small pack with her snacks and water and the horse, thats me, carried the rest. We hiked about 2 and a half miles and camped at Marjorie Lake, which is near the Uintah Wilderness. We were surprised that the lake had grayling in it. We had a good time fishing, playing scum, finding spring water, and eating backpacking food. We had good cool weather for most of the trip, Brynlee had her jacket on most of the time. We hike to a few of the other lakes and ponds in the area and fished for a bit in each one. We stayed just long enough to catch a fish or two in each lake. Most of the lakes had brook trout in them. One on the bigger lakes was supposed to have cutthroats in it but we only caught brook trout. Mckay and Brynlee had fun at our camp playing on a bunch of old logs and stumps and finding old peices of rusty metal. We used one of these peices of metal as a frying pan for cooking fish when the fish we were cooking on a stick kept falling off.
Here we are on the trail.

One guy gave me a really funny look because my pack was so big.

These stumps and logs were right by our campsite.

Here's what a grayling looks like. They have a big dorsal fin.
