Wind River Trip Pictures
We (Jonathan, Kendra, Mckay and Brynlee) just got back from a backpacking trip to the Wind River Range in Wyoming (Marinn and Denae stayed with Grandma Hyde). We had a blast fishing and seeing the beautiful sights for a week. It was unusually warm, maybe 85 degrees, and that sure beat the 100+ degress it was in Orem for the week. We hiked about 7 and a half miles and camped at Trapper Lake at about 9700 feet elevation. We cheated a little and had horses carry in a lot of our gear. I put a few pictures below for all to see some of our adventure.
This is a picture of Section Corner Lake. I like the sky reflection in the water.
These are some the fish we caught at Section Corner Lake. Notice the big brown trout Landry caught on the far left.
We took a short hike to some ponds above Trapper Lake and found this nice spot to throw rocks into the water as Brynlee is doing below.
We all had fun throwing rocks into the water here. Its hard to tell in the picture but there is about a 20 foot drop off to the water just in front of were Brynlee is standing.
After a few days of camping Mckay and Brynlee were so dirty we had them take a "swim" in the lake to wash up. The sun warmed up the shallow water enough to make swimming tolerable.
On the hike out there are some breathtaking overlooks.
